This Australian animated sci-fi comedy follows Saira, an introverted space princess who is suddenly thrown out of her sheltered life and into an intergalactic mission to rescue her bounty-hunter ex-girlfriend from the “Straight White Maliens.” Along the way, the film mixes absurd humour, colourful 2D animation, queer fantasy, heartbreak, self-discovery and a lot of cosmic drama into one wildly entertaining adventure.

Winner at Berlinale 2025, Lesbian Space Princess is funny, tender and proudly over-the-top. It is a movie about finding your courage, your community and your own kind of power.
