On 08.06., we’re screening Hit the Road, the debut feature film by Iranian filmmaker Panah Panahi, open air under the summer sky.

Earlier this year, we screened it as part of our Iran Sneak. For everyone who missed it, or anyone who would love to experience it again in a beautiful open air setting, this is the perfect chance for a (re-)watch.

Hit the Road follows a family on a mysterious road trip across the Iranian countryside. What begins as a humorous and intimate portrait of family dynamics slowly unfolds into something deeper: a tender, melancholic and deeply human story about love, separation and the things left unsaid.

With its stunning landscapes, unforgettable performances and subtle political undercurrent, Hit the Road is a moving and beautifully crafted film that stays with you long after the journey ends.
